-3 tablespoons buttermilk

-1/4 teaspoon chili powder

-Salt and pepper, to taste

-1/4 cup olive oil or avocado oil, divided

For the sauce:

-1/2 cup tahini sauce

-3 tablespoons water, or more as needed

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. 2. In a large bowl, mix together chicken pieces, paprika, cumin, chili powder, salt and pepper. 3. In a shallow dish or plate, pour in half of the oil. 4. Take each chicken piece and dip it first in the oil then in the spices to coat. 5. Place chicken on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes or until cooked through. 6. While chicken is cooking, prepare the sauce by blending together tahini sauce with water until desired consistency is reached. 7. In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté onions in remaining oil until they are lightly browned and softened. 8. Serve chicken shashlik with onions and tahini sauce on the side. Enjoy!
