-1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes

-1/2 cup all-purpose flour

-1/2 teaspoon salt

-1/4 teaspoon black pepper

-1/4 cup vegetable oil

For the marinade:

-1/4 cup soy sauce

-1/4 cup honey

-3 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided use)

Instructions:

1) In a large resealable bag, combine chicken cubes, flour, salt and pepper. Shake to coat well.

2) In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey and 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. Pour over chicken cubes in bag, making sure all are coated. Marinate for at least 30 minutes or up to 8 hours (refrigerate if marinating longer than 4 hours).

3) Preheat grill to medium heat. Thread chicken onto skewers (if using wooden skewers, soak in water for 30 minutes before using). Grill for 6 to 8 minutes per side, or until cooked through. Serve with rice and your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!

To make fried chicken shashlik, you'll need:

1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into 1-inch cubes

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons cornstarch

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 egg, beaten with 2 tablespoons water

1 cup bread crumbs

3 tablespoons olive oil or vegetable oil

To make the marinade: In a large resealable bag, combine 1/2 cup vinegar, 1/4 cup vegetable oil, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 1 tablespoon honey, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper. Add the chicken cubes to the bag, making sure they're well coated with the marinade. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or overnight).

Place the bread crumbs in a third shallow dish. remove the chicken from the marinade and coat it in the flour mixture. Dip it in the egg mixture then coat it in the bread crumbs.

You can either grill or bake your shashlik. If grilling: Preheat grill to medium-high heat then thread chicken onto skewers (if using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes before using). Grill for 8-10 minutes per side or until cooked through. If baking: Preheat oven to 400 degrees F then place chicken on a greased baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through. Serve with your favorite dipping sauce!
